Welcome back to the Soma Flow podcast. My name is Tabitha McDonald. We are going to continue our little game of guess which Enneagram type I am talking about. So get your guessing ears on, if that's even a term. And here we go. Today I want to tell you a story. It's the story of a woman named Maya, and maybe it's your story too. So close your eyes, drop into your hips and let's begin.

Maya had always been the one to hold the weight At work. She was the one people leaned on. Decisions, deadlines, chaos she handled it all. Her manager praised her drive but kept her small. He relied on her but never saw her. She was called intimidating, assertive, too direct. But all Maya knew was if I don't stand strong, everything falls was if I don't stand strong, everything falls. And so she stood every day back straight, fists clenched, fire contained, but beneath it a deep knowing, a quiet voice. You were made for more than holding up someone else's empire. It happened on a Tuesday, a major pitch. Maya had done the strategy, the prep, the planning, the whole vision came from her. And yet, when the deal closed, her boss smiled and took the credit. Not a thank you, not a mention, just a shrug and a new assignment. Not a mention, just a shrug. And a new assignment. Something cracked, not loudly, just a clean internal tear, like a fire finally breaking free from its cage.

That night, maya sat in her car, hands shaking on the wheel. She whispered I've been building someone else's kingdom when I was born to birth my own. And that's when the fire stopped burning her and started guiding her. That night, she dreamed a desert, a storm and a figure walking through flame. It was her higher self and a figure walking through flame. It was her higher self Fierce, feminine, free Eyes, like wildfire and ancient oceans. She spoke with no sound, but Maya heard her. You weren't made to play safe. You were made to disrupt, dismantle and ignite, not for ego but for purpose. She reached out and placed her hand over Maya's heart and in that touch, maya saw herself leading, speaking, transforming lives. Not for recognition, but because truth burned in her bones. You are the storm and the sanctuary. The catalyst whispered Lead from your fire.

As the dream deepened, a temple formed, one of fire and gold and breath. Inside a council waited Parts of Maya. Superpowers she had buried under survival. Let love in, she said. Your power is magnified in connection. You don't have to do it all alone. She placed a ribbon of silk into Maya's hand, a reminder that real strength includes softness.

Next stepped forward the intuitive sage, cloaked in indigo, holding a glowing map. Your wisdom isn't just insight, it's transmission. You're here to teach frameworks that free people. She offered a scroll, a blueprint for deep transformation. She burst in like sunrise, the visionary creator, laughing, spinning, radiant. Play love, play love. Don't forget to play. Your joy opens portals. Your ideas move the world. She handed maya a kaleidoscope, turning shadows into vision. Next, the harmonizing mystic stepped forward, wrapped in stillness, radiating peace. You are more powerful when you are aligned. The world doesn't need your push, it needs your presence. She offered a stone, cool, solid, grounded.

But just as Maya gathered the gifts, a cold wind blew through the temple. A figure emerged sharp. It was the controller, her shadow, the part of her that had kept her safe. By staying in control, you'll lose everything, he snarled. Who will respect you if you soften? Who will follow you if you don't dominate? Maya's fists clenched, old armor rising. But then she remembered the catalyst's voice Lead from your fire, not from fear, not from force, from soul. She placed the silk scroll, kaleidoscope and stone on the altar and turned to the controller Thank you, but I'm not here to survive anymore. I'm here to transform. And with that, the shadow dissolved into ash.

Maya left her job two months later, not in rage, not in revenge, but in reverence. She began her business a coaching practice rooted in power, purpose and transformation. She spoke with fire and soul. She built a brand that awakened people's truth and her counsel. They showed up every day the connector reminding her to lead with love. The sage giving structure to her knowing the creator turning vision into offers. The mystic keeping her grounded and clear. And, at the center, the empowered catalyst guiding her into the fire and beyond it.

Now take a breath and drop in. Ask yourself where am I giving my power away to stay safe? What disruption is trying to awaken me? What part of me is ready to lead, not with control, but with purpose. Feel into it. Your fire doesn't need to be tamed. It needs to be trusted. This is the path of the empowered catalyst. You are not made to stay small to make others feel safe. You are made to burn what's false and build what's real. If Maya's story stirred something inside of you, ask yourself where do I feel the spark and am I ready to follow it?
